SEOUL, July 31 (Korea Bizwire) — Two crew members suffered injuries as a Navy warship caught fire while entering a naval port in the southeastern city of Jinhae on Thursday, the Navy said.
The fire occurred at an auxiliary engine system on the ROKS Hyang Ro Bong as the landing ship was entering the port in Jinhae, some 310 kilometers southeast of Seoul, at around 3:49 p.m., according to the armed service.
About 180 crew members were aboard. One crew member who suffered burns has been transferred to a hospital, while another patient has recovered.
The Navy said it has mobilized all available resources for firefighting efforts.
The exact cause of the fire was not immediately known.
