‘2014 Focus on Your World’ Award for Environment Picture Contest Held in Seoul

SEOUL, Sep. 2 (Korea Bizwire)Hyundai Oilbank, a Korean petroleum and refinery company, announced on August 31 that it partnered with the United Nations Environment Program National Committee for the Republic of Korea (UNEP Korea) to hold the “2014 Focus on Your World” award for the environment photograph contest at Sejong Center on the 31st.

The contest run for three months from last April has had three themes: Beautiful Planet, Small Hope and “Raise your voice, not the sea level.” The best picture award was bestowed on Ronnie Dayo from the Philippines whose picture, “Fire,” depicted two people who try to extinguish a fire together.

The contest had 3,350 entries, among which 50 works were awarded certificates of award and the prize money equivalent to a total of 27.2 million won, or about $26,900.

Award-winning pictures are planned to be exhibited on the Online Gallery in the UNEP Korea website, the Photo Gallery N in Naver, and at the gallery in the Seoul Citizen’s hall from September 1 to 12.
