3D Printing Education Program Interests Many

CHANGWON, Aug. 7 (Korea Bizwire) – Education to train specialists in 3D printing is in high demand.

Applicants of all genders and ages gathered at the ’2015 3D Printing Creative Makers Education Program’, which the Creative Economy Innovation Center of Gyeongnam Province opened on August 5. The applicants varied from ages 19 to 69, with various occupations such as office workers, students and stay-at-home moms.

The reasons applicants attended the class were also diverse. People were participating not only out of curiosity, but also to create new products or prepare to launch new businesses.

Stay-at-home mom Kim (47) had an even bigger motivation than others. “My husband lost his hand in an accident. I would like to make him an artificial hand. It would also be good if I could also help others in need.”

The program will continue for 15 days, and applicants will get a total of 120 hours of education on 3D printing, modeling and after-treatment.

Choi Sang-gi, the head of the Creative Economy Innovation Center, commented on the positive effects of the program. “Through 3D printing, the ideas in your head can be realized in a short amount of time, with a small amount of money. We plan to offer more opportunities for 3D printing education so that more people can realize their great ideas and link them into new business opportunities.”
