3rd Dadaepo Sunset Film Festival Kicks Off in Busan

BUSAN, Aug. 11 (Korea Bizwire) — The 3rd Dadaepo Sunset Film Festival opened on August 9 at Dadaepo Beach in Busan, offering a unique combination of cinema, the sea, and sunsets.

The event began at 6 p.m. with a celebratory performance and red carpet ceremony, followed by the screening of the opening film, The Outlaws at 8 p.m. Director Cho Jin-gyu and actor Kim Jeong-tae also held a talk with the audience.

The festival’s pre-opening event featured a special tribute to the late actress Kim Young-ae, showcasing the film Aja along with the short film Twenty-three Jiyoon by director Choi Daniel.

The festival will conclude on August 10, from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., with an awards ceremony for short films, a screening of the closing film C’est Si Bon, and a live performance by the K-pop group Koyote.

The Dadaepo Sunset Film Festival, which focuses on local cultural and tourism content in the western part of Busan, celebrates its third year.

Organizing committee chair Cho Geum-se expressed hope that, like local food, local culture can grow through the shared engagement of citizens and tourists, positioning the festival as a unique cultural hub representing Busan’s charm and spirit.
