SEOUL, Dec. 9 (Korea Bizwire)A private theater with a maximum of four seats that recently opened in Hanam, Gyeonggi Province is gaining attention as a potential alternative to large multiplexes in the pandemic era.

Local startup The VX opened up ‘Another Watching Club’, a private movie theater that consists of three viewing rooms with only four seats last October.

The rooms, which each cover an area of approximately 20 square meters, accommodate no more than four spectators, making it Another Watching Club the smallest movie theater in South Korea.

Tickets cost 16,000 won (US$13.60) per person. From reservations to entering the theater, all procedures are contactless and carried out via a smartphone application.

Potential moviegoers can open up the AWC app, select the movie of preference along with the date, time and the number of people to make a reservation.

Since each cinema is reserved on a group basis, outsiders cannot enter the cinema during reserved hours.
