DAEGU, April 25 (Korea Bizwire) – The Ministry of Public Safety and Security is hosting its seventh rescue dog competition at the Daegu Exhibition & Convention Center (EXCO) on Wednesday.

As part of the 14th International Fire & Safety Expo, 41 rescue dogs will compete in the preliminary rounds on April 24 and 25 at the Dalseong 119 Rescue Headquarters, and in the final round on Wednesday at EXCO, where they’ll have to pass six obstacles to make their way to the rescue zone.

In addition to the competition, the headquarters will also present sporting dogs and “special mission dogs,” who will show off their skills in front of expo visitors on Wednesday.

South Korea’s rescue dogs were dispatched on 580 missions last year, retrieving 14 survivors and recovering 17 bodies.
