SUNCHEON, Oct. 4 (Korea Bizwire) — A Buddhist pilgrimage dedicated to hope and consolation in the pandemic era has begun with participants embarking on a cross-country journey.
Monks from the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism and 94 Buddhist believers began a 19-day pilgrimage from Songgwang Temple in Suncheon, 415 kilometers south of Seoul, on Friday.
The pilgrims will travel 423 kilometers from Songgwang Temple to Tongdo Temple in Yangsan, South Gyeongsang Province over 19 days, visiting nine temples in five cities and 12 districts.
The pilgrims will hold worship services in front of 16 national treasures and 98 cultural heritages.
