SEOUL, March 7 (Korea Bizwire) — LG Electronics Inc. said Wednesday it has signed a four-year sponsorship contract with South Korea’s women’s curling team, which captured a surprise silver medal at the PyeongChang Winter Olympics.
Under the contract, the home appliances giant will have the team members appear in its advertisements for vacuum cleaners.
“We are happy to make advertisements with South Korea’s female curling team, which attracted the world’s attention through its top-notch performances and teamwork,” LG Electronics said, expressing hope that the agreement will also help promote the CordZero vacuum cleaner brand.
The company said the curling team will introduce LG’s new wireless vacuum cleaner products slated to launch this month.
South Korea’s female curling team, which had a low ranking among the 10 teams competing in the event, ended the Winter Games on the podium.
