SEOUL, Feb. 15 (Korea Bizwire) — Kakao Brain, an artificial intelligence (AI) unit of South Korea’s tech giant Kakao Corp., said Tuesday that it presented a text-based motion creation model that it developed jointly with a research team from Korea University at a global AI conference.
The new model, dubbed FLAME, can create natural motions using AI if any motion is input in a text format as well as modifying the motions depending on personal preference.
Kakao Brain delivered a presentation on the model during the AAAI 2023 Conference organized by the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence. This came after an academic paper on the model garnered high recognition.
“Currently many businesses are concentrating on the creation of text-based images or videos. We will continue our text-based motion creation study to achieve distinguished results,” said Choi Sung-joon, an AI professor at Korea University who is a member of the research team.
“If FLAME is introduced for the areas that have relied on manual work through motion capture during the process of producing games, animations, or movies, it would greatly contribute to automating the work and improving work efficiency,” said Kim Il-doo, CEO of Kakao Brain.
