JEJU, Feb. 22 (Korea Bizwire) — Cruise ships are set to visit South Korea’s resort island of Jeju for the first time since the onset of the pandemic.
The Jeju Provincial government reported that 29,000-ton MS Amadea will be entering Jeju Port on March 16.
The cruise ship will set sail from Niigata carrying 300 passengers and make stops in Sokcho and Busan before a nine-hour stay in Jeju.
The 115,000-ton Diamond Princess cruise ship will enter the Jeju Civilian-Military Complex Port in Gangjeong Village on March 19.
Carrying 3,000 passengers, the cruise ship will set sail from Kagoshima and visit Jeju for seven hours.
This year, Gangjeong Port is expected to receive 29 cruise ships, compared to 22 at Jeju Port.
Some 55,000 cruise travelers are expected to come from Japan over 32 trips this year.
