SEOUL, Nov. 21 (Korea Bizwire) – Lotte Department Store announced the launch of its European-style Christmas Market, running from November 20 to January 5 at the Lotte World Mall’s Lawn Plaza in Jamsil, Seoul.
This year’s market, themed “Wonderful Showtime,” represents the largest iteration to date, featuring collaboration with luxury brand Chanel and integration with an ice rink. The market covers an area of approximately 2,314 square meters, marking a 20% increase from last year, and houses 41 vendors, an increase of 16.
The expanded marketplace offers a diverse selection of merchandise, from Christmas decorations and accessories to gifts and culinary delights. Notable vendors include Wooderful Life, known for handcrafted wooden music boxes; Danish home decor brand Room Copenhagen; Christmas specialty shop Present Moment; and Arte, which sells handmade teddy bears crafted from alpaca wool.
The food section features returning favorites such as Caffeine Sinhyeonri, which gained popularity last year with its Nuremberg sausages, alongside pop-up stores including the bakery Attention and Heart Tiramisu, famous for its crunchy tiramisu cakes.
Children’s gifts, which accounted for 40% of last year’s sales, maintain a strong presence. The market introduces vendors like Tintin Shop, selling merchandise featuring the popular Belgian cartoon character, alongside established brands LEGO and Playmobil.
Interactive attractions include a 22-meter-tall Christmas tree and a carousel, operated in partnership with Lotte Property & Development. The carousel is free for market ticket holders. Additional features include a “Wall of Wishes” where visitors can post their Christmas wishes, and dedicated photo zones.
Entry tickets are priced at 2,000 won and can be purchased at the Lotte World Mall’s first-floor event space. A Fast Pass option, priced at 10,000 won and allowing two people to skip the line, will be available through the Lotte Department Store mobile app starting December 3. All ticket purchases include shopping vouchers of equivalent value.
Customers who spend over 100,000 won at either the Christmas market or Lotte Department Store Jamsil branch and Lotte World Mall can receive priority access to the Chanel ice rink at the mall’s Arena Plaza, beginning November 21.
A portion of the market’s proceeds will be donated to sponsorship programs through the Songpa District Office.
Additionally, Time Villas Suwon will operate its own Christmas market from November 28 to January 5, featuring 16 vendors across a 595-square-meter space, offering food, beverages, wine, groceries, accessories, and children’s items.
“We have strived to faithfully recreate Europe’s Christmas markets, which are among the world’s most beautiful winter festivals,” said Kim Ji-hyun, head of marketing at Lotte Department Store.
