CHUNCHEON, Dec. 8 (Korea Bizwire) — Actor and singer Jang Keun-suk has been chosen as an honorary ambassador for the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics.
Jang will represent the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, as well as tourism in Gangwon Province, after receiving a plaque in celebration of his appointment at an event held in the region on Friday.
“I’m fortunate to be selected as an honorary ambassador for an international festival. I will fulfill my responsibility as an honorary ambassador by doing my best,” Jang said.
Jang has bought 2,018 tickets himself, with plans to enjoy the Winter Games with the same number of his fans.
Jang is also expected to promote the PyeongChang 2018 Olympics while visiting multiple Japanese cities during his Japanese tour, which the singer will embark on in January, as well as serving as a torch bearer later on.
“It’s great news that K-pop star Jang Keun-suk will serve as the latest honorary ambassador with the Winter Olympics just around the corner,” said Choi Moon-soon, the governor of Gangwon Province.
