SEOUL, Mar. 8 (Korea Bizwire) – In a strategic move to expand its distribution channels, CJ CheilJedang, a major South Korean food company, has launched its popular products, including Hetbahn rice dishes, Bibigo dumplings and beef bone soup, and Gourmet Chinese meals, on K-Venue, the dedicated Korean product category on Alibaba Group’s e-commerce platform, AliExpress.

Starting on March 7, CJ CheilJedang’s bestsellers became available for purchase on K-Venue, marking a significant partnership with AliExpress, an emerging competitor to Coupang, the country’s largest online platform, where the company’s products were dropped from the Rocket Delivery service in November 2022.

A spokesperson for CJ CheilJedang emphasized the importance of securing new distribution channels, stating, “It’s a natural progression for manufacturers to explore alternative retail outlets. Expanding our sales channels will not only contribute to business growth but also offer consumers greater choice.”

K-Venue, unveiled by AliExpress in October of last year, serves as a dedicated sales channel for Korean products. Goods purchased through K-Venue are shipped free of charge from within South Korea, with delivery typically completed within three days.

Several prominent Korean companies, including LG Household & Health Care, Amorepacific, and Korea P&G, have already established a presence on AliExpress, offering a range of household goods, beverages, and other consumer products.

Notably, AliExpress has recently expanded its offerings to include fresh produce, such as fruits, vegetables, and seafood, in addition to processed foods and household items.

The strategic partnership between CJ CheilJedang and AliExpress highlights the growing importance of e-commerce platforms in the competitive Korean market and the companies’ efforts to diversify their distribution channels to reach a wider consumer base.
