SEOUL, Aug. 2 (Korea Bizwire)The Air Force said Tuesday it will choose four civilian pilots for a flight experience on indigenous aircraft.

Any Korean citizen aged over 17 can apply through the website of the Air Force until August 15.

After passing the initial round of document screening and the second round of in-depth interviews, the selected candidates will undergo flight environment adaptation training at the Air Force Aerospace Medical Center.

Based on the results of testing g-force tolerance and emergency escape training, four civilian pilots will ultimately be chosen.

The selected pilots will perform one-hour missions aboard locally-made aircraft operated by the Air Force, including the T-50 advanced trainer jets and FA-50 light attack aircraft, at the Seoul International Aerospace & Defense Exhibition (ADEX) 2023, scheduled to open at the Seoul Air Base in October.

The Air Force has been selecting civilian pilots biennially since 2007, and so far, a total of 37 civilians, including students, teachers, and nurses, have been selected.
