SEOUL, May 12 (Korea Bizwire) — An albino badger was found in Korea for the first time, followed by the finding of an albino black-tailed gull, according to the Korean National Park’s statement on May 10.
Albino animals have been an auspicious sign from the past in Korea.
The white badger was caught on one of the monitoring cameras in Jirisan National Park at the end of the April, while the white ‘black-tailed’ gull was found while a restoration project concerning migrating birds was taking place in Tongyeong.
As albino animals have a low chance of survival due to their conspicuous color, the park managers will install an additional 20 surveillance cameras at Jirisan to increase monitoring activities to hopefully find more albino animals.
