SEOUL, Jan. 25 (Korea Bizwire) — ‘Alternative tourism’ is gaining popularity with South Korea reaching the third year of travel restrictions following the coronavirus outbreak.
Major travel agency Interpark Tour said Monday it had released ‘Toy Story’, a unique tourist package that asks foreign customers to send dolls to ‘take the trip for them’.
The package was designed to cater to potential demand overseas to travel to South Korea in the midst of the pandemic.
Customers can send their dolls to South Korea, where they will be featured in photos at popular tourist hotspots in Seoul.
The dolls will be returned to the customers along with the photos and souvenirs.
The package will be made available first to Japanese customers. Each package costs 50,000 won (US$41.73).
