SEOUL, Oct. 26 (Korea Bizwire) – LG U+ has announced that two American TV series from NBC Universal, which it recently started showing in Korea, have already exceeded 1.5 million views in one month.
LG U+ started to provide its viewers with ‘Heroes Season 5: Reborn’ and ’12 Monkeys’ in mid-September. NBC Universal is a company formed by the merger of two entertainment heavyweights, NBC, one of the four largest TV networks in the U.S., and Universal Pictures, which is the largest film studio in Hollywood.
According to LG U+, 65 percent of the viewers who watch the two new American series are men, and 35 percent are women. The company noted that men in their 30s and 40s were the main audience.
Officials explain that the shift is because men in their 40s who couldn’t easily find ways to watch American programs have access to a new media platform that provides the content. With younger viewers already well-versed in finding American TV content online, it should come as no surprise that the main audience is composed of older individuals.
