SEOUL, Aug. 22 (Korea Bizwire) — South Korean beauty care behemoth Amorepacific Group said it has developed a chipless wireless electronic skin that enables accurate analysis and measurement of skin conditions anytime and anywhere without heavy equipment.
In general, clinical skin research requires the use of high-priced diagnosis equipment as well as maintaining a stable level of temperature and humidity.
Accordingly, the number of skin research results achieved under special environments is limited.
After four years of joint research with professor Kim Jeehwan at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Amorepacific developed the chipless wireless wearable electronic skin (e-skin).
The results of this breakthrough were published in the academic journal Science.
Amorepacific expects this technology to contribute to developing customized functional cosmetics by making it easier to diagnose the skin conditions of those who work in special environments while enduring cold, heat or dryness.
The technology derived from this study will be used by Amorepacific’s major brands such as Sulwhasoo.
