SEOUL, Sept. 4 (Korea Bizwire) — The governing body behind Andong’s annual mask dance festival held a promotional event over the weekend in Seoul, showcasing dozens of masks from around the world.
Prior to the 2017 iteration of the Andong Mask Dance Festival, the Andong Festival Tourism Foundation held an event as part of efforts to promote this year’s festival, hosting a number of different events from quiz shows to mask making, as well as mask-themed performances by international groups from Vietnam and Indonesia.
“As this year’s event coincides with the Chuseok holiday, we expect a significant number of tourists and those visiting their family in the region will attend the festival,” an official said.
Under the concept ‘Wish of Homo-festivus’, the Andong Mask Dance Festival is set to begin on the September 29 for a 10-day run, with 14 groups from 13 countries including Bolivia, Russia and China scheduled to perform during the event.
