SEOUL, Korea, Jan 24 (Korea Bizwire) –  The Yangpyeong-dong area in southwestern Seoul, the home to now-defunct smokestack factory buildings, is slowly turning into an outlet shopping district. ArounZ, a large-scale outlet mall specializing in everything about coffee, from coffee beans from all across the world to coffee-making equipment and ingredients, is one of them.

The 2,300-square-meter three-story building is a paradise for coffee afficionados and cafe operators a like, filled to the brim with roasting machines, coffee makers, filters, and French presses.

The lobby floor is a space for customers who can custom-tailor their orders. The barista roasts the coffee of your choice and prepare a cup of Java on the spot if you wish. The coffee bean can be purchased at the small amount of 100 or 200 grams or in bulks for cafe owners.

At the cafeteria on the third floor visitors can sample different varieties of coffee served hot by professional baristas. The store also offers seminars, cupping tests, and hand-drip classes for coffee shop managers and hopefuls.

The largest shareholder of CKCO&, the operating company for ArounZ, is the son of late Kim Bok-yong, the founder of Maeil Dairies, one of the major dairy food companies in Korea. The company completed the construction of the first coffee processing plant in Pyeongtaek, 100 kilometers south of Seoul, in December 2012, with a capacity to roast 3,000 tons of coffee bean. The ISO 9001-certified Pyeongtaek plant is equipped with the fully automated roasting facility.
