SEOUL, Apr. 26 (Korea Bizwire) – Baemin (Baedal Minjok), South Korea’s leading food delivery platform, is launching a new subscription service called “Baemin Club” that will provide unlimited discounts on delivery fees.
The announcement was made on Tuesday by Woowa Brothers, the company that operates Baemin. The primary benefits of the subscription include free delivery fees for “Thrifty Delivery” orders and discounted fees for “One-House Delivery” orders.
With the discount applied, the maximum delivery fee for One-House Delivery will be capped at 1,000 won.
Subscribers will be eligible for discounts even when ordering a single serving, as long as the order meets the minimum purchase amount set by the restaurant. Additionally, members can combine the subscription discount with other coupons for further savings.
Woowa Brothers has already notified users about these upcoming benefits through a notice within the Baemin application.
Furthermore, the company is considering extending the subscription’s perks to its B-commerce (business-to-business e-commerce) services.
A representative from Woowa Brothers stated, “Specific details regarding the subscription service usage and pricing will be provided at a later date.”
Currently, Coupang Eats, a rival food delivery platform, offers a bundled delivery service free of charge to its paid “Wow Membership” subscribers. Meanwhile, Yogiyo, another major player in the market, operates the “Yogiyo Pass X” membership, which provides free delivery.
The Wow Membership costs 7,890 won per month, while the Yogiyo Pass X is priced at 4,900 won per month, though a temporary promotion until the end of June is offering it for 2,900 won per month.
