SEOUL, May 27 (Korea Bizwire)Bidworks, a company specializing in public bid-related services, said on May 26 that it has launched a new smartphone app “Bid App” that allows users to view information on all available public auctions.

The app provides a variety of information on bids announced by Public Procurement Service’s KONEPS (Korea Online E-Procurement System) and other government agencies and state-run enterprises.

Lee Hak-soo, president of Bidworks, said, “The success of a construction business depends critically on winning bids. For this reason getting timely bid information is very important for the contractors’ survival and prosperity. I hope the new Bid App could help contractors win their business more conveniently.”

Up until now, most public bid information services have been for fee and there were no mobile-based services. The new app can be linked to KakaoTalk and the text message service so the user doesn’t have to worry about missing out on an important bid, as the information arrives at the user’s message inbox or alerted by KakaoTalk ringtone. The app is available for download at Google Market or at the mobile app page of Bidworks.

To celebrate the launch of the app, the company will hold a bid-style promotional event. Anyone who enters a bid through the app from May 26 to June 17 will be eligible for a sweepstake and the company will give away gift certificates worth 50,000 to 300,000 won to seven winners. For further information on the app and the special event, check the website at www.bidworks.net.
