WANDO, May 20 (Korea Bizwire) — The nation’s largest birthday cake sculpture has been installed on Saengildo Island in Wando County, South Jeolla Province, attracting much attention.
The county has set up a birthday cake, a representative symbol of the island, at the ferry pier in Seoseong Port and has been holding a special celebration event for the island since May 12.
The name of the Island, ‘Saengil’, means birthday in Korean.
The birthday cake sculpture is a three-tier circular sculpture, 5.8 meters tall and 2.7 meters wide. It is attracting attention as it is decorated with various seafood and fruit sculptures such as abalone.
Candle sculptures installed on top of the cake light up at night, adding to the beauty of the sculpture and giving it a festive air.
When one presses a switch installed on the cake, a variety of happy birthday music is played, including a sweet Korean version, a cheerful rhythm version, and a foreign language version.
