BLACKPINK Calls on Fans to Join Efforts to Fight Global Warming


SEOUL, Dec. 11 (Korea Bizwire)K-pop girl group BLACKPINK joined hands with the British Embassy in South Korea to ask fans to participate in efforts to fight global warming.

“This is a global challenge. Each and every one of us could make a difference, and we need to act now,” said BLACKPINK in a video posted on their official social media account on Wednesday.

“It is not too late. We can still decide to make it better,” they added, introducing the 26th UN Climate Change Conference (COP26) to be held in the U.K. in November of next year.

“Thrilled to be working with BLACKPINK and YG Entertainment to raise awareness on climate change ahead of COP26,” British Ambassador to South Korea Simon Smith wrote on Twitter.

“The stakes could not be higher for our planet, so we hope all BLINKs will join us on this journey,” he added.

The video will be screened at the 2020 Climate Ambition Summit to be jointly hosted by Britain, the United Nations, and France.
