SEOUL, Feb. 7 (Korea Bizwire) —  BMW has introduced the latest iteration of its all-electric Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV), the ‘New iX,’ marking its global debut. The automaker announced the unveiling on February 7, highlighting significant advancements in power, design, and battery efficiency.

The New iX, part of the BMW i sub-brand, incorporates the company’s latest electric powertrain technology and refined luxury aesthetics. Notable design enhancements include a revised vertical kidney grille featuring a new diagonal pattern, along with BMW’s ‘Iconic Glow’ illumination around its perimeter.

Performance upgrades extend across the model lineup. The base variant, the iX xDrive45, now delivers 408 horsepower—an increase of 82 hp—along with a peak torque of 71.4 kg·m (700 Nm). This allows it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.1 seconds.

The more powerful iX xDrive60 boasts 544 horsepower—a 21-hp improvement—while generating 78.0 kg·m (765 Nm) of torque. It achieves a 0-100 km/h sprint in 4.6 seconds.

At the top of the lineup, the high-performance iX M70 xDrive now delivers 659 horsepower in Sport Mode, with an increased maximum torque of 103.5 kg·m (1,100 Nm) when launch control is activated. The M70 variant accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds.

BMW has also enhanced battery capacity across the range. The iX xDrive45 now features a 94.8 kWh battery, a 30% increase in capacity. The iX xDrive60 carries a 109.1 kWh battery, while the iX M70 xDrive is equipped with a 108.9 kWh unit.

According to Europe’s WLTP testing standards, the New iX offers an extended driving range per charge: up to 602 km for the xDrive45, 701 km for the xDrive60, and 600 km for the M70 xDrive.

BMW plans to launch the New iX in South Korea during the third quarter of 2025, as part of its broader global rollout.
