SEOUL, March 24 (Korea Bizwire) — Heightened interest in earning extra income through side-jobs is resulting in a growing number of related publications.
Books about smart stores or generating profit on social media, in particular, are gaining popularity.
Yes24, a leading online bookstore, reported that among books about secondary jobs, 36.3 percent were books that talk about online platforms.
Sales of books related to online marketing and business, which includes the aforementioned books, jumped by 54.4 percent between 2019 and 2020, and by another 2.5 percent between 2020 and 2021.
The number of newly released books in this field jumped from 60 in 2020 to 83 books last year.
“Unstable employment and the spread of contactless practices in the pandemic era have sparked interest in secondary jobs,” Yes24 said.
Books about business platforms where secondary jobs are stable and easy to acquire are gaining particular interest.
Books about side-projects that discuss having a second life after work, aside from economic reasons, are also on the rise.
