SEOUL, March 9 (Korea Bizwire) — ChatGPT is the hottest topic in the book publishing industry, and not only readers are looking for books about the AI chatbot but publishers are also scrambling to release them.
Online bookstore Yes24 reported that 17 new books about ChatGPT were published in January and February alone. Another 10 books are soon to be published.
Sales of books about ChatGPT in January more than tripled from the previous month. February sales were more than 90 times higher than in January.
Looking at February sales, 19.3 percent of the purchasers were consumers in their 40s, making them the largest purchasing group, followed by those in their 50s (18.8 percent) and 30s (10.1 percent).
Men (60.5 percent) were more interested in books about ChatGPT than women (39.5 percent).
“ChatGPT is an easily accessible program, enabling a major response from readers who are non-IT professionals,” Yes24 said.
