BTS Begins Asian Tour, Tops Oricon Weekly Chart

SEOUL, Nov. 13 (Korea Bizwire)Globally popular South Korean boy band BTS has topped Japan’s Oricon weekly singles chart with its new Japanese single.

The band’s ninth Japanese single “Fake Love/Airplane pt. 2″ took the first place on the chart with 454,829 Oricon points, according to the chart updated Tuesday. The score is counted based on album sales.

BTS became the first foreign artists to surpass 400,000 points with an album in the first week of release.

The album has stayed atop the Oricon daily singles chart for six consecutive days since being released.

K-pop girl group TWICE debuted at No. 1 on the Oricon weekly albums chart with its latest EP album “Yes or Yes.” The album gained 33,000 points.

“Fake Love/Airplane pt. 2″ contains four tracks — the Japanese versions of “Airplane pt. 2″ and “Fake Love,” “Idol (Stadium Remix)” and the Japanese version of “Fake Love (Remix).”

BTS embarked on an Asian tour in eight cities and countries, including Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka, Taoyuan, Bangkok, Singapore and Hong Kong.

The group’s Japanese leg of the “Love Yourself” world tour will all take place in domes, the country’s biggest concert venues. It will perform in Tokyo on Tuesday and Wednesday, in Osaka on Nov. 21, 23 and 24, Nagoya on Jan. 12 and 13, and Fukuoka on Feb. 16 and 17.
