SEOUL, March 7 (Korea Bizwire) — J-Hope of K-pop supergroup BTS will release his new digital single, “Sweet Dreams (feat. Miguel),” and its music video Friday.
“Sweet Dreams” is a pop R&B track that explores the feelings of love, according to his agency, BigHit Music.
It described the track as a serenade expressing a sincere desire to love and be loved, comparing the feeling of falling in love to a “sweet dream.”
“I had this conviction that ‘I should do this’ as soon as I heard the song,” the rapper-dancer said in a Q&A with the agency.
“I participated in a song camp for the first time as I worked on the song, and I found this method more enjoyable than expected. Thanks to the camp, I created many songs during my stay in Los Angeles,” he said. “Since I created many good songs, I was eager to play them for my fans as quickly as possible.”
The song features Grammy-winning American R&B artist Miguel, a collaboration J-Hope said he was “deeply moved” by.
“I’ve listened to Miguel’s music a lot since I was young. I was happy to be able to collaborate with such a person,” J-Hope said in a statement.
The single blends dreamy synthesizers, guitar strumming and soft vocal riffs, with J-Hope contributing to the overall direction and message of the song, according to the agency.
The release follows the start of his first solo world tour, titled “Hope on the Stage,” with a three-night concert in Seoul from Feb. 28 to March 2. During the show, he gave a surprise performance of “Sweet Dreams” ahead of its official release.
