SEOUL, Oct. 24 (Korea Bizwire) – South Korean boy band BTS has been named as one of the 15 most influential celebrities on social media by US Weekly, alongside American President Donald Trump and international pop star Beyonce.
The seven-member band ranked 14th among the ‘most influential celebrities on social media’ according to the periodical, with Beyonce coming out on top.
Pop star Ariana Grande was second, with current U.S. President Donald Trump ranking sixth.
While former U.S. President Barack Obama came in 12th place, BTS were the only Asian celebrities to be included on the list.
The magazine said the K-Pop group stayed on top of Billboard’s Social 50 chart for over 30 weeks in a row, helping the group receive top social artist award at the Billboard Music awards earlier this year, and securing a spot among the most influential celebrities on social media.
It’s not the first time BTS has received international recognition, as the group was previously featured on similar lists by Time Magazine and the New York Times.
