SEOUL, Oct. 8 (Korea Bizwire) — An increasing number of apartment complexes are providing concierge services that perform daily chores on behalf of residents, while providing a variety of living conveniences.
For the residents of the Gwanggyo IPARK apartment complex in Suwon, Gyeonggi province, built by HDC Hyundai Development Co., robots bring ordered delivery food to their front doors.
HDC formed a partnership with the country’s top food delivery app operator Woowa Brothers Corp. in August 2020. If residents order from restaurants within the apartment complex, Woowa’s food delivery robot Delidrive delivers the food directly to their door.
Residents of the Mapo Prestige Xi in Seoul, built by GS Engineering & Construction Co., can request concierge service for housework such as cleaning and car washing.
The primary factor behind the construction companies’ efforts to strengthen concierge services is that it’s difficult to differentiate from rivals simply with convenience facilities such as swimming pools and fitness centers.
Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co. is now developing a mobile app in which residents can apply for concierge services ranging from food ordering to home arrangement and storage and cleaning.
Hanwha Engineering and Construction Corp. introduced a delivery robot that brings food directly to the customer’s door at the Forena Yeongdeungpo Central apartment complex, in consideration of the fact that the number of people ordering delivery food has increased due to COVID-19.
