BUSAN, May 17 (Korea Bizwire) — The main beaches in Busan have been remodeled to welcome this year’s vacationers.
Haundae, Songdo and Songjeong Beaches are open from June 1, which are the fastest opening beaches in the nation. Gwangalli, Dadaepo, Ilgwang and Imrang Beaches are open from July 1.
Haeundae Beach, celebrating 50 years since its opening, has been enlarged to double its breadth.
Haundae County Office has spent 43.5 billion won (US$ 40.1 million) in restoring the beach, which had been losing its sand, over the last three years.
The office will also establish an artificial kids pool, a kids’ swimming zone and an emergency education center, on the beach.
Songdo Beach will be equipped with a 104-meter-long skywalk. The bridge is 5.5~6-meters-high above sea level. Visitors will be able to see the ocean under their feet, through floors made of tempered glass.
Songdo Beach will be also equipped with kids’ swimming zones. Various shows such as magic shows, cocktail shows and guitar performances will be also present on the beach.
Gwangalli Beach will present an exhibition area, shell gathering events and beach music shows, while Songjeong Beach will operate a camping ground for visitors, traditional folk playgrounds and beach sports zones.
Dadaepo Beach will hold a kite boarding competition, while Ilgwang Beach and Imrang Beach will present music festivals.
