BUSAN, July 7 (Korea Bizwire)The Request Cinema program will launch a crowd ticketing service during the 27th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF).

Request Cinema is an audience participation program that decides what films to screen and which guests to invite based on requests from the audience.

The audience can participate in the process of deciding what films to screen through crowdticketing, similar to crowdfunding. The first round of crowdticketing will be held from July 5-15, followed by a second round slated for July 19-26.

Request Cinema gathers an audience with similar tastes and interests, while enabling spectators to actively participate in the process of scheduling the screening.

In 2021, the program showcased an array of films in various genres and themes, including the environment, human rights, children and women.

This year’s BIFF is scheduled to be held at the Busan Cinema Center in the southern port city of Busan from October 5-14.
