Busan Fireworks Festival Lights Up the Night as City Aims for 2030 World Expo


∫ŒªÍø¢Ω∫∆˜ ¿Øƒ° ±‚ø¯ ∫“≤…ºÓBUSAN, Nov. 6 (Korea Bizwire) – The Busan Fireworks Festival, aimed at securing the 2030 Busan World Expo bid, dazzled spectators on the evening of November 4, painting the skies above Gwangalli, Igidae, and Dongbaek Island in Busan with an extraordinary display. 

This breathtaking event featured signature fireworks that resembled renowned waterfalls like Niagara and Iguazu. Against the backdrop of the iconic Gwangan Bridge, Korea’s only super-large fireworks, with a massive diameter of 400 meters, illuminated the night in a breathtaking fashion.

Themed “DREAM, a stage where dreams come true,” the Busan Fireworks Festival unfolded in two captivating parts: Part 1, “Everyone’s Dreams Gather,” and Part 2, “Dreams Come True.”

The festival culminated in a magnificent ‘curtain call fireworks’ that graced the night sky for about five minutes, marking the conclusion of the event while leaving attendees eagerly anticipating next year’s installment.

According to the city of Busan, as of 8 p.m., an impressive 769,000 people had gathered to witness the spectacle from Haeundae and Gwangalli. The city carefully managed the event’s capacity, allowing three people per 1 cubic meter of space. This resulted in a calculated capacity of 203,000 for Gwangalli Beach’s white sands, spanning 67,000 square meters, and 150,000 for Gwangalli Beach Road.
