Busan International Film Festival Offers Virtual Reality-Supported Viewing Experience

SEOUL, Oct. 13 (Korea Bizwire)Telecommunications giant KT announced on September 12 that it has teamed up with virtual reality content producer Barunson to hold a VR screening room at this year’s Busan International Film Festival.

Titled ‘VR Cinema in BIFF’, the screening room will show 23 short films. The daily schedule runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and each film will start on the hour.

Visitors can book seats on the first floor of the Busan Cinema Center at no charge. The screening room has no screen; instead, visitors are supplied with VR equipment.

A KT spokesperson said, “QR codes for smartphones are also being expected to be offered at the Busan Cinema Center so attendees can enjoy VR movies on their phones.”
