BUSAN, Dec. 27 (Korea Bizwire) — Marine litter has been transformed into artworks to share an important message about the seriousness of contaminating the environment.
A series of sculptures were built in Busan’s tourist district of Haeundae using debris collected from the sea to raise public awareness about the risk posed by marine litter and the severity of the impact of this waste on the marine ecosystem.
The seashell-shaped sculpture set up at Haeundae Beach is 5 meters wide, 7 meters tall and 3 meters in width. Lights have been set up around the sculpture to blend in with Haeundae‘s light festival which runs until February.
A sea wave sculpture that is 3 meters long, 3 meters tall and 2 meters thick has also been set up at Songjeong Beach, a major sufing destination in Busan.
