BUSAN, Jan 25 (Korea Bizwire) – C1Blue, a liquor brand made by Busan-based C1Soju (or Daesun Liquor in Korean) that is rising in popularity, is set to debut in Australia. This is the fourth international market launch for C1Blue, after success in Japan, Singapore and China.

c1-The maker of C1Blue is well known for its long history. As a brand with the longest founding history for any Busan-based company, it has been operating in the black following its successful M&A agreement with BN Group in 2011. It recorded an operating profit of 4bn Won in 2014 according to the company’s official announcement on January 21.

Daesun said a total of 24,000 bottles of C1Blue have been shipped out of its warehouses in Busan which are bound for Australia this time. Last year, the company exported 36,000 bottles to Japan, 12,000 bottles to Singapore and 12,000 bottles to China.

C1Blue, once named on the list of ‘The Top 10 Most Popular Brands in Busan,’ proved its competitive strength, garnering an award at the International Wines and Spirits Competition (IWSC) last year. C1Blue is also on sale in the US and other Southeast Asian markets including Cambodia.

Considered as “Korea’s most popular alcoholic beverage” in 2010, soju is traditionally made from rice, wheat, or barley, while modern producers often replace rice with other starches such as potatoes, sweet potatoes, or tapioca.
