BUSAN, May 31 (Korea Bizwire) — Songjeong Beach, Busan’s top destination for surfers, is opening up this Tuesday and will host an exhibition for surfing and environment-related artworks made with waste.
Haeundae District is holding a ‘Junk Art’ exhibition at Songjeong Beach under the title of ‘Songjeong Beach, where even polar bears make a visit’, showcasing various artworks made with waste from cars and motorcycles.
Junk Art, also known as Recycled Art, uses everyday waste to create artworks with a message about protecting the environment.
The exhibition’s keywords are ‘environment’ and ‘surfing’, introducing seven pieces of junk art that combine the image of polar bears suffering from climate change and surfing.
The most representative of the pieces is a sculpture of a polar bear on a surfing board.
