SEOUL, June 17 (Korea Bizwire) – The Seoul Gimpo Business Aviation Center (SGBAC) has officially opened at Gimpo International Airport, the Korea Airports Corporation said on Thursday.

The SGBAC is Korea’s first flight support facility exclusively designed for business aircraft, with a new terminal for faster immigration processing. A 12,490-square-meter hangar that can accommodate eight business aircraft will also be used by the new center.

With the opening of the SGBAC, passengers who use business jets can now pass through immigration much quicker than using the regular passenger terminal.

The Ministry of Transportation and Korea Airports Corporation cooperated to create a hub that can meet the increasing demands of business aircraft passengers.

Seventy-five industry officials from domestic and international airlines and business aircraft manufacturers attended the opening ceremony on Thursday, June 16.

“The new facility with world-class infrastructure and service will be the finest gateway into Korea for business figures,” said Sung Il-hwan, president of Korea Airports Corporation. “We hope to become the business flight hub in northeast Asia and lead the business airline market in Asia,” he added.
