SEOUL, June 24 (Korea Bizwire)After the grand opening in May this year, the Seoul Floating Island in the Han River is quickly emerging as a new landmark for the city.

Launched during the Oh Se-hoon administration in 2006 and completed under Seoul City Mayor Park Won-soon, the island is especially beautiful at night with a variety of LED light colors.

An official responsible for managing the island said, “Next year three international fashion fairs will be held at the convention center on the island, with tens of thousands of fashion buyers and industry people gathering here.”

“In September this year, an event will be held in which 600 of the world’s top fashion designers will gather in the island’s convention center as part of promoting the upcoming fashion fairs,” added the official.

Organizers of international conferences and exhibitions said the floating island’s LED lighting systems are very special in that they can create wave-like color palette that can change their shapes and forms depending on the type of event.

The organizers also commented that the Seoul Floating Island is the ideal venue for international events, corporate banquets, and launching shows thanks to its state-of-the-art equipment and the excellent view of the river and the city.
