SEOUL, Nov. 27 (Korea Bizwire)Poolus, a new carpool startup, has announced a plan to share its profits with its customers.

According to the plan, Poolus will distribute “pool points” to users of its service, which can either be cashed in or exchanged for shares in the company.

In addition, AI technology will be incorporated into the smartphone app to optimize “matches” between drivers and riders. Poolus will feature the beta version of the AI service starting this week.

The company also plans to hold townhall meetings by inviting users on a regular basis in order to exchange ideas and to strengthen communication between drivers and riders.

Meanwhile, critics have called for the government to provide support in guaranteeing a secure carpooling service.

This would include the adoption of a driving registration service and a system that allows for swift police reporting in case of problems.
