SEOUL, Feb. 17 (Korea Bizwire) — A music app to help dogs relax on road trips has been launched. Dogs can experience motion sickness just like humans do, and it can be a significant source of stress. CH Happy Dog, a broadcast company that airs programs for dogs, and DION, an IDTV bidirectional service firm, have partnered to launch the service.
The app, called ‘Happy Dog Music Vol.2-Driveways,’ is the second of the ‘music-for-dogs’ series, and is available through Apple’s App Store and Google Play for 9,900 won.
The Happy Dog Music Vol.2 features music edited with white noise and high-frequency sounds that are especially designed, with help from veterinarians, to calm down stressed dogs and eliminate their fear of vibrations typical of transport vehicles.
Dog owners give their pets medication in order to prevent motion sickness, and some have their animals go without food for a couple of hours before they travel. However, Song Joon-Ho, Head of DION, said that such measures can aggravate dogs’ fear of riding in cars. He said that it is important let the fear go away and allow dogs to relax to prevent motion sickness.
The app will be sold for half price until February 23. Buyers are also provided with a free trial of the Happy Dog Channel for seven days.
