SEOUL, Feb. 4 (Korea Bizwire) — Chevrolet’s Trax Crossover was South Korea’s most exported passenger vehicle in 2024, with the Trailblazer securing the fourth spot, according to an announcement by GM Korea on February 4.

Data from the Korea Automobile & Mobility Association (KAMA) shows that a total of 295,099 units of the Trax Crossover, including its variants, were shipped overseas last year, making it the country’s top-exported passenger car for the second consecutive year. Since its launch in 2023, the model has accumulated overseas sales of 510,000 units.

Buoyed by the strong performance of these models, GM Korea achieved its highest export volume since 2014. The Trailblazer, including its derivatives, ranked fourth in exports, with 178,066 units sold overseas in 2024. Since its debut in 2019, the Trailblazer has reached total exports of approximately 830,000 units.

Despite last year’s record-breaking export figures, GM Korea faces a challenging landscape in 2025. The majority of its vehicles are exported to the United States, where potential tariff policies under President Donald Trump could significantly impact shipments.

A GM Korea representative stated, “We aim to secure an annual production capacity close to 500,000 units by focusing on strategically in-demand models worldwide, ensuring our long-term sustainability in the Korean market.”

As GM Korea navigates an uncertain trade environment, its strong overseas demand remains a crucial factor in sustaining its operations and export-driven growth.
