SEOUL, Feb. 18 (Korea Bizwire) — Short track speed skater Lee June-seo recently showed Kwak Yoon-gy, the 32-year-old pink-haired elder statesman on the South Korean men’s short track speed skating team, a photo of the latter with his hair dyed in red, next to himself, when he was still a kid.
Kwak, who is 11 years senior to Lee, recreated the pose from the 12-year-old photo in a new image.
Only this time, they switched places.
The kid Lee June-seo was seen in the old photo clasping his hands next to Kwak. This time, Kwak chose to clasp his hands together for the new photo.
Kwak posted the photo on his social media account prior to the men’s 5,000m short track speed skating relay final at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics on Wednesday.
“It felt as if the first and last page of my short track career have finally met,” Kwak said.
“Becoming someone’s dream, and now being able to dream together, gives me this odd feeling. I think I can enjoy ice skating even more.”
“I met uncle Kwak when I first began ice skating. Now, we’re brothers,” said Lee, as he also posted the same photo on his social account.
The South Korean men’s team grabbed silver after finished in second place behind Canada.
