Chinese Men Arrested for Burglary in Jeju

JEJU, Jan. 15 (Korea Bizwire)Jeju’s Seobu Police Station said four Chinese men visiting Jeju visa-free were arrested for burglary on Monday.

The men are suspected of breaking into a high-end villa in a small town near Jeju City on December 30 and stealing watches and jewelry on three separate occasions.

An investigation revealed that the Chinese men had concrete plans for a break-in before arriving in Jeju on December 26.

The police tracked down the plate number of a rental vehicle fleeing the crime scene to apprehend the suspects. Others were identified by confirming with the Jeju Immigration Office.

The police arrested two suspects who showed up at a rental shop to return their car, and the other two were taken into custody while awaiting departure at the airport.
