SEOUL, Feb. 10 (Korea Bizwire) – Civic activists said Tuesday they have filed a complaint with the prosecution against former South Korean President Lee Myung-bak over his memoir.

The activists took the legal action on Monday, accusing Lee of violating the law on the management of presidential records and leaking secrets through the recent publication of his memoir, “President’s Time.”

They also have sought a Seoul Southern District Court injunction to halt the sale of the book.

Prosecutors and court officials were not immediately reached for comment.

Lee has been widely criticized for divulging sensitive information on secret inter-Korean negotiations meant to set up a summit and his summits with U.S. and Chinese leaders.

Lee, who served as president from 2008 to 2013, penned the memoir to help successive administrations in terms of policy continuity in state affairs, according to Lee’s spokesman.

Last week, Unification Minister Ryoo Kihl-jae, Seoul’s point man on Pyongyang, slammed Lee for disclosing sensitive information on inter-Korean ties.
