SEOUL, June 12 (Korea Bizwire) – CJ Korea Express has launched a meal delivery service for the first time in the logistics industry in South Korea, catering to the growing number of single households and working couples in the country.

From 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. every day, the company’s new service will see ready-made meals delivered to anyone living in Seoul and neighboring areas, a company spokesperson said yesterday.

The menu offers a wide range of meals for breakfast including soups and side dishes, all of which can be ready to eat quickly by simply boiling or heating up for those who don’t have enough time to cook in the morning or at night.

After a trial run in April, the South Korean logistics company is accelerating its efforts to expand its delivery service starting this month, while currently delivering around 1,200 to 1,500 prepared meals made by some 30 businesses on a daily basis.

“The increasing number of single households and growing interest in health is seeing an increase in demand for ready-made meals in the country,” a CJ Korea Express official said.

“Thought we are only offering our service in Seoul and the neighboring areas, we intend to expand to other major cities in the country.”
