GOESAN, Aug. 22 (Korea Bizwire) — A masterpiece by one of the most representative painters of the Joseon Dynasty has been replicated across a rice field.
In May of last year, the Agricultural Technology Center in Goesan County, North Chungcheong Province, planted rice in five distinct colors — white, green and red — within a rice paddy spanning 5,481 square meters.
The rice flourished, transforming into a rendition of “Wrestling,” a renowned artwork by the Korean folk painter Kim Hong-do (1745-1806).
Starting from 2008, the county has been annually recreating paintings in rice paddies.
These paddies showcase captivating sights each year, from the initial emergence of rice shoots to the harvest season in October.
