SEOUL, May 11 (Korea Bizwire) — A concert commemorating President Moon Jae-in’s first anniversary in office was held yesterday afternoon at Nokjiwon, the green lawn of the presidential Blue House.
Guests included 300 residents and students living in the nearby neighborhoods of Cheongun-dong, Hyoja-dong, Sajik-dong and Samcheon-dong.
“It’s been already one year since I came into office. Exactly one year ago, I remember how the residents of this neighborhood welcomed me into the Blue House,” said President Moon during his greeting remarks before the concert.
Moon also went on to say that he felt sorry for the limits on transportation and the inconvenience this had caused.
He also thanked local residents for bearing with the inconvenience in addition to the noise from demonstrators after paths leading to the Blue House were opened to the public.
The concert featured music by composer Kim Hyeong-seok, who played his piano rendition of “Mr President.” Singer Na Yoon-kwon and the female duo Rooftop Moonlights also performed for the president and residents during the concert.
