SEOUL, March 19 (Korea Bizwire) — South Korean convenience store chain CU has introduced the country’s first beer subscription service.
BGF Retail Co., CU’s operating company, said Thursday that it had joined hands with Dailyshot, an online-to-offline (O2O) service app for alcoholic beverages, to launch a canned beer subscription service.
Dailyshot is a South Korean startup that introduced the country’s first premium liquor membership service.
Signing up for a beer subscription plan (6,900 won or US$6 monthly) via Dailyshot allows customers to collect three cans of beer from a local CU store every month.
The subscription plan offers a more competitive price than the ‘10,000 won for 4 Cans’ promotions, CU explains.
The subscription plan will apply to the 12 most popular beers among the ‘10,000 won for 4 Cans’ line-up, adding new beers each week.
